New Japanese Vibes (13) – ぼくのりりっくのぼうよみ Boku no Lyric no Bouyomi ‘sub/objective’

When listening to ‘sub/objective’ by ぼくのりりっくのぼうよみ Boku no Lyric no Bouyomi, one may hardly believe that it a high school teenager from Yokohama was the mastermind behind this seductive and soulful hip-hop/rap track.

The track trickles through with a smooth flowing vibe and youthful spirit. Stuttering guitar chords set the catchy hip-hop/nu-jazz pulse in motion, but at the same time it evokes a subtle minimalist character that influences the track from start to finish. The silky harmonic and textural backdrop enhances the melancholic vocals of Boku no Lyric no Bouyomi, making the overall effect tranquil and addictive in equal measure.
